What I liked in the book

I opened up the book to pg 5 and found cave drawings that were found in Africa over 200.000 yrs. ago. To me these pics are amazing considering how long ago they were created and with the lack of tools and canvas provided. These early day artists had to be the most innovative of any and all time in order to get their point across on their caves and to other viewers. Sometimes I sit at home and try and re-create the odd shapes of humans and animals that these people observed back in the day. It is really hard to re-create that beautiful texture of the cave walls mixed with the strange people and weird lines. Some people would argue this is not art or that a little 3yr could draw these, I laugh at these people and would ask them to try and create something as recognizable as a cave drawing with just a stick and ash. I would like to learn more about these drawings and perfect the art of ancient old cave like drawings in my own artistic way one day.

Website's Visited in a 24 hour Period

FaceBook- I use facebook daily to check on friends I haven't talked to in awhile. I use this site for about two hours a day. The only reason why I like this site is because I can stay in contact with all my friends.

Youtube- I use this site to watch music video's that I can't find on T.V. I would say I use this site up to 5 hours a week. I like this site because you can find almost any video, movie, ad's, anything with motion you like.

NHL.com- I use this site to check up on scores and news around the NHL. If it was not for this site you would have no idea what is going on with all 30 teams and players in the league. I spend about 20min a day on this site.(during the season)

RMU Blackboard- I use this site to do work in all my classes. This is very useful because you can access your school work anywhere at anytime. One thing I don't like is that sometimes the site goes down for long periods of time, making it hard to do work. I use this site for about 1-2 hours a day.

RMU Art Show Poster

disadvantages & Advantages of Web

I would have to say the advantages to the web would be that you can share and view your work/website all around the world to many different eyes, easily. It is is very easy to access and can always be changed by you. This in return gives you the art student a better chance of hopefully finding work or other ideas.

The disadvantages to the web would be viruses or corrupted files that are up to no good can ruin your website/work if you don't have it saved on back up files. Also you never know who actually is viewing your work, this could be a good thing or a bad thing. For the unfortunate few that don't own computers, they will not be able to view your work/website at all unless they go to a library or some type of other resource. One last thing might be the fact that you the web designer or artist is not there with the viewer to answer any questions or to just simply talk about your work and to include maybe some more insitefull information that could help.
